Content
From a measured gap to a brief, from a brief to a draft, and from an approved draft to your site — with page templates and checks along the way.
The Content module writes the pages that win questions you are currently losing. It never invents a topic: a brief is built only from a measured gap — a question where competitors are named and you are not — together with the sources the engines actually cited. A brief becomes a draft, the draft is checked, and nothing goes live until someone approves it.
Where to find it
In the sidebar, open Actions › Content. The page header has two buttons:
- Page templates — the kinds of page the module can write (see Page templates).
- Generate brief from gap — queues a new brief from your measured gaps.
Three tiles sit under the header: Open briefs (not yet turned into content), Awaiting review (drafts waiting for you) and Published. Below them, the Briefs list and the Drafts list sit side by side.
The pipeline
Measured gap → Brief → Draft → Review → Approved → Queued → Published1. Get a brief
There are four ways a brief is made:
- Press Generate brief from gap on the Content page.
- Press Generate briefs or Send to autopilot on a content-gap or comparison card in the action plan.
- Once a week (Monday morning, UTC), Rixe drafts one brief per workspace that has a measured gap.
- Workflows can create briefs too — see Autopilot and workflows.
A brief shows its page type (from the template library), its status, its generation cost in US dollars, the outline of H2 sections, and how many citations it carries. Every citation links to a real source URL. If no evidence was found, the brief says "No citations — no unsourced claims written."
No gap, no brief
If your measurements do not yet show a question that rivals win and you do not, no brief is produced. Briefs appear once enough daily measurements have accumulated.
2. Turn the brief into a draft
On a brief, press Generate content from this brief. The draft appears in Drafts a little later. Generation uses:
- the active voice profile in your brand vault — company definition, tone, writing rules, author persona, audiences, regional rules, terminology, variables, verified facts, banned claims and blocked domains (Brand vault and knowledge base);
- passages from your knowledge base that match the topic;
- the page template's sections and word range;
- the evidence collected for the brief.
3. Review the draft
Open a draft by its title, or with Review and approve / Follow the draft / View. The draft page shows:
| Tile | What it means |
|---|---|
| Content review score | Out of 100. Half of it is adherence to your own writing rules; the rest covers answer structure, evidence and trust, and fit with the brief. 80 or more counts as ready to publish. |
| Citation likelihood | How likely the page is to be cited, with a list of what is missing and how many points each would add. Shown when it can be calculated. |
| Answer format score | How well the page is shaped for AI answers. The target is 80. |
| Structure check | How many of the structure checks pass, plus the number of FAQ questions found. |
The structure checks are: a direct answer paragraph at the top (20–90 words that answer the question on their own), a heading hierarchy (at least two H2s, no level skipped), an FAQ section, a comparison table, concrete figures, structured data (FAQPage or Article schema) and a visible update date.
To change the text, press Edit text, edit, and Save. Saving creates a new version and re-runs the structure check and the banned-claim scan. To have Rixe rewrite it instead, type what should change and press Request revision; the text is regenerated from your note as a new version.
4. Approve
Press Approve. A draft that contains a banned claim from your vault — or a link to a blocked domain — cannot be approved; the page says so and names the problem. Fix the text and save first.
5. Publish
Each draft row in the list shows a strip — Draft › Review › Approved › Queued › Published — with the current step highlighted. Once approved, you have three ways out:
- Send to site: one button per connected site publishes it live, and as draft sends it to your CMS as an unpublished draft. Connect a site under Publishing (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Ghost, Contentful, HubSpot CMS, GitHub and others); see Integrations.
- Ready package for platforms without write API — downloadable packages for ideasoft, ticimax and ikas.
- Download markdown — copy it into any system yourself.
Only approved content can be published. When publishing runs through the autopilot, the strip shows the queue state: waiting for your approval in the Inbox, queued for the next autopilot pass, writing to the CMS, done, cancelled, or the error if it failed. After publishing, the row shows the CMS item ID, the live URL and a link to the page's change history.
Rewriting an existing page
For a page you already have — one that fails the answer format or has gone stale — use Send to autopilot on its action plan card. Rixe fetches the page, keeps its facts and rewrites only its shape. The draft carries a refresh badge and a before / after line with the old and new answer format scores.
Measuring the effect
Once published, a draft counts as a change in Impact. Impact here means the change in the target question's mention rate after publishing, and it is not shown before 14 days of data — until then the row reads impact not measured yet.
Page templates
Open Page templates from the Content header. A template defines a kind of page: its name, what it is for, its H2 sections in order (with what each must cover), and a minimum and maximum word count.
- Press New template, or Edit on an existing one.
- Give it a Code (lowercase letters, digits and dashes, e.g.
press-release). The code is stored on every brief and cannot change later. - Fill in Name, What this page is for, Minimum words and Maximum words.
- Under Sections, add up to 20 sections. Say what each section must contain, not how to phrase it.
- Save.
Templates marked Built-in ship with Rixe; yours are marked Custom. Templates are shared across the whole organisation, so an agency's template serves every client. Deleting a built-in template resets it to the shipped version.
Plans and costs
Content is available on every plan. Briefs, drafts, revisions and page rewrites are AI generation: on brand plans they use the plan's monthly AI allowance, and on agency plans each one draws from the credit pool. The cost of every brief and draft is shown on it. See Plans and limits and Credits.
Common questions
I pressed Generate brief from gap and nothing appeared. The job only writes a brief when there is a measured gap. Check Prompts for questions where competitors appear and you do not.
Can I write in more than one voice? Yes — create a voice profile for each audience or product line and activate the one you want before generating. See Brand vault and knowledge base.
Why is the review score low when every structure check passes? Half of the score is adherence to your own writing rules, which the model judges separately. Open the review card to see which rule failed.
