Measure
Podcasts
Which podcast shows and episodes AI engines cite when they answer your prompts, and which episodes elsewhere name you or your competitors.
AI engines cite podcasts the way they cite forum threads: an Apple Podcasts episode page, a Spotify show, a hosting page. A show the engines cite often, whose answers name a rival but not you, is a show worth pitching for a guest spot. The Podcasts sub-tab finds those shows in your measured answers, and can also search a podcast directory for episodes that mention you or your rivals.
Where to find it
Open AEO Insights › Sources in the sidebar and choose the Podcasts sub-tab (https://app.rixe.ai/insights?tab=sources&stab=podcasts). The window in the filter strip (Last 7 / 30 / 90 days) applies to the cited podcasts.
The screen has two layers:
| Layer | Where the data comes from | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Shows and Cited podcast pages | The citations in your measured answers. | None — read from answers you already have. |
| Episodes that name you or a rival | A search of a podcast directory, outside the AI answers. | Run on demand, at most once a day. |
Shows and pages the engines cite
Rixe reads every cited link through a list of podcast platforms and works out the show and the episode from the address. Supported platforms include Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Podcasts and YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Pocket Casts, Castbox, Overcast, Player FM, Podchaser, Listen Notes, iHeart, iVoox, and hosting services such as Buzzsprout, Podbean, Libsyn, Transistor, Simplecast, Captivate, Acast, Spreaker, Audioboom, Megaphone, RedCircle, RSS.com, Podigee and Ausha. An ordinary YouTube video is not counted as a podcast, because its address cannot be told apart from any other video.
Because this works on stored citations, it also covers answers measured before you first opened the tab.
Shows
The Shows table groups every cited page by show.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Show | The show title (opens it in a new tab) and its platform. |
| Episodes | How many of its episodes were cited. |
| Answers | How many answers cited the show or one of its episodes. |
| Citations | Total citations. |
| Brand | In how many of those answers your brand was named, for example 3/11. Empty if none. |
| Competitors | Rivals named in those answers, with answer counts. |
Cited podcast pages
Cited podcast pages lists each page separately: the title and address, whether it is an Episode or a Show page, and its Answers, Prompts, Brand and Competitors columns.
How to use it
- Sort your attention by Answers: the shows cited most often shape the most answers.
- Look for rows where Competitors is filled and Brand is empty. These shows carry your rivals and not you.
- Open the show and pitch a guest appearance, or plan outreach for it. See Sources, outreach and PR.
If nothing is cited yet, the tab says "No podcast cited yet". It fills when answers cite a podcast page.
Episodes that name you or a rival
The second card, Episodes that name you or a rival, searches a podcast directory for your brand name and your top competitors, outside the AI answers. It finds episodes that already talk about you or your rivals, which are natural places to follow up.
- Click Search episodes on the card.
- Rixe searches for your brand and up to five of your tracked competitors, with up to 20 episodes per name.
- When it finishes, the card says "Search done: N episodes found." and lists them.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Episode | Episode title (links to the episode), show name and language. |
| Names | Which brand the episode names in its title, description or show details. Your brand is highlighted. |
| Published | When the episode was published. |
| Transcript | Open transcript, when the directory has one. |
The card shows when you last searched. A workspace can search once a day: after a search, the button reads Searched today until a day has passed. Viewers cannot start a search; owners, admins and members can.
Failed searches are said, not hidden
If the search for one name fails, the card says "Could not search: {names}". Those names may have episodes that are not shown — this is not the same as "no episodes".
If the card shows Not configured, podcast search is not set up on the platform yet. The cited shows and pages above still work without it.
Limits and availability
Podcasts are included in every plan. Cited shows grow with the number of prompts and citing engines you measure; the episode search runs at most once a day per workspace. See Plans and limits.
Common questions
Why is a Spotify link in my URL list not shown here? Only podcast show and episode addresses count. Music and other pages on the same host are left out.
A show is cited but my brand column is empty. The answers that cited it named other brands, or none. That is exactly the gap this tab exists to show.
Does the episode search use AI answers? No. It searches a podcast directory directly, so it can find episodes that no engine has cited yet.
