Billing and subscription

Choose a plan, read your usage against its limits, change plans and manage payment details.

Rixe is a paid product: there is no free plan and no trial. An organisation can register and walk through setup without paying, but measurement and every other action that costs money start only once a subscription is active. The Billing screen is where you choose that plan, see how much of it you are using and reach the payment provider's portal for cards and invoices.

Where to find it

Open the user menu (your name at the bottom of the sidebar) and choose Billing, or go straight to https://app.rixe.ai/billing. The screen has three tabs:

TabWhat it shows
OverviewYour plan, the subscription status, the payment provider and the payment activity received from it.
UsageWhere you stand against each limit this month, monthly measurement spend and the plan limits.
PlansEvery plan with its price and limits, and the button that starts checkout or changes your plan.

Owners and admins see everything. A member sees the plan, the overview and the plan list, but not spend or limit usage — the Usage tab says "Usage is visible to owners and admins" instead. Only owners and admins can start a checkout or open the payment portal. See Team and roles.

Choosing a plan

  1. Open Billing › Plans.
  2. Pick Monthly or Yearly at the top. Yearly billing gives two months free.
  3. Switch between Brand plans and Agency plans if you need the other ladder. Agency plans are sold as a monthly credit pool rather than a prompt count — see Agency credits.
  4. On the plan you want, click Upgrade or Switch to this plan. You are taken to the payment provider's checkout; when payment succeeds you return to the billing screen and the subscription becomes active.

Plans marked Talk to us (for example Leader and Enterprise) have no list price: their limits are agreed with you and set by contract, so there is no checkout button on them.

The comparison table under the plan cards lists the full feature catalogue, with an i next to each row explaining what it means. The exact prices and limits for each plan are on Plans and limits; prices are in US dollars.

Payments are handled by Paddle

Rixe never sees or stores your card number. Checkout, card details and invoice documents live with the payment provider. Rixe receives the provider's subscription and payment events and lists them under Payment activity.

Changing or cancelling your plan

You never end up with two subscriptions. If your organisation already has an active subscription and you choose another plan on Billing › Plans, Rixe changes the plan on the subscription you already have. When the provider cannot apply the change directly, you are sent to its portal to finish it there.

To update a card, download invoices or cancel, click Manage payment details on the Subscription card (or under the plan cards). This opens the payment provider's own portal and brings you back to Billing when you are done.

Reading the Overview tab

The four cards at the top are:

  • Plan — the plan you are on, with the end of the current billing period.
  • Tracked prompt — prompts in use against the plan's limit.
  • Workspace — workspaces in use against the limit.
  • Measurement spend this month (owners and admins) — what this month's measurements actually cost against the plan's Monthly measurement budget. Members see the number of markets here instead.

A bar turns amber above 80% of a limit and red when the limit is reached.

The Subscription card shows the Status (active, payment failed or cancelled), the Payment provider and the Renewal date. Payment activity lists each event the provider sent, its date and whether it was Processed, is Pending or Failed.

Reading the Usage tab

Limit usage has one bar per limit for the current month: credits (agency plans only), tracked prompts, workspaces, markets, the Monthly preview report allowance and measurement spend. Monthly spend charts the last six months of measurement cost and the number of runs; the figures come from the recorded cost of each measurement, not an estimate. Plan limits shows the included markets, any extra markets you pay for, the monthly measurement budget and whether the client portal is included.

Which AI engines can be measured does not depend on how close you are to a limit. How many engines a plan includes is listed on Plans and limits and Engines and markets.

What happens at a limit

Limits only ever stop adding things:

  • Above the prompt or workspace limit you cannot add new prompts or workspaces. Measurement of what you already track does not stop.
  • Each market beyond the ones your plan includes is billed as an extra market each month; measurement is never stopped because of it.
  • On an agency plan, when the month's credits run out, the remaining days are not measured and show as missing data in the panel. The score is never quietly lowered. Credits renew at the start of the month.

When the subscription is not active

If you have never chosen a plan, or a payment fails and the subscription stops being active, a banner across the top of the panel tells you which one it is:

SituationBanner
No plan yet"Choose a plan to start — measurement begins once your plan is active."
Payment failed or subscription cancelled"Your subscription is not active; update your payment details to continue."

While the subscription is not active:

  • Every screen and every number you already have stays readable.
  • Nothing new that costs money can be added. The API answers such requests with HTTP 402 and the code NO_SUBSCRIPTION or SUBSCRIPTION_INACTIVE.
  • New measurements are not scheduled.
  • Billing, sign-in, single sign-on and data-protection requests keep working, so you can always pay or get your data out.
json
{
  "statusCode": 402,
  "code": "SUBSCRIPTION_INACTIVE",
  "message": "Subscription is not active; update payment to continue"
}

Once the provider confirms payment, the block lifts by itself; there is nothing to re-enable.

Common questions

Is there a free trial? No. Every plan is paid from the first day.

Where are my invoices? In the payment provider's portal: Billing › Overview › Manage payment details.

The plan buttons are greyed out. The payment provider is not connected for your account yet. The screen says so and asks you to contact us for plan changes; your measurements are not affected.

I'm a member and can't start a checkout. Checkout and the payment portal are limited to owners and admins. Ask one of them, or ask the owner to change your role.
